Centre Signs Cooperation Agreement with Estonian Information System Authority

The Estonian Information System Authority and NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence sign the first ever cooperation agreement. The two organisations will pool talent for trainings and exercises.

“RIA highly appreciates the cooperation with the Centre. We share the same goals in cyber security and believe that through effectively combining civil-military, strategic and operational aspects of cyber security, we both achieve better results,” emphasises Liina Areng, the head of international relations at the Estonian Information System Authority.

“We have worked together with the Estonian Information System Authority on many occasions, but this is the first time our cooperation is formalized,” explains COL Artur Suzik, director of the Centre. “It is essential that talent is shared and developed, particularly in such a fast-paced environment as cyber defence. Therefore I am particularly pleased to have focused on how to best educate cyber defence experts,” he adds.

According to the agreement, technical courses and workshops at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence are open to RIA experts while the authority contributes staff to the annual real-time cyber defence exercise Locked Shields.
